Stephen Curry isn’t the only one putting on a show during Warriors practices.
Associate head coach Alvin Gentry still has a little spring in his legs, but the 60-year-old needed an assist to dunk during a recent Warriors practice.
Jarron Collins, a player development coach on Steve Kerr’s staff with the Warriors, shared an Instagram video of Gentry — who’ll leave the Warriors when the NBA Finals conclude to take over as head coach of the New Orleans Pelicans — using the padded wall underneath the hoop to help his hops in throwing down the one-handed dunk.
Alvin Gentry (r.) is the top assistant on Steve Kerr’s Warriors staff.
“Age ain’t nothing but a number. Alvin ‘skywalker’ Gentry still getting up to throw down,” Collins wrote when he shared the clip.
The players errupted into applause after Gentry’s slam — on what was at least his second attempt — and Marreese Speights probably ran away and found some place to hide.
