Who knew the Rams were so … sexy?
The Rams are returning to Los Angeles — OK, Inglewood — where they had a pretty nice run in the ‘80s, making the playoffs six times in seven seasons. More importantly, it’s where they recorded “Let’s Ram It!”
Not familiar with that one?
The 1986 hype video has it all: Rapping football players, cheerleaders, faux saxophone playing and tons of pelvis thrusting and sexual innuendo.
It blows “Super Bowl Shuffle” away.
“I like to Ram it, as you can see, nobody likes Ramming any more than me.”
— Nolan Cromwell, aka “Hollywood Handsome”
“I learned long ago to Ram it just right, you can Ram it all day and ram it all night.”
— Dennis Harrah, aka “Herc”
Get down, Norwood Vann.
“Quick on my feet, the ladies agree, before they know it they’re Ramming with me.”
— Johnnie Johnson aka “The Intimidator”
Another player raps “Ramming is fun when you Ram it with me,” before the video cuts to teased-up, spandex-wearing cheerleaders.
Then there’s the ensemble shot with the players pointing and flexing as they say: “You can do it just right, you can Ram it all night.”
What puts this over the top is that a “Making of” video reveals that the song is supposed to be about football players being role models.
It is everything about the ’80s in five minutes.
